WHO WE ARE
We are the UC Santa Barbara Chapter of Delta Epsilon Mu - the nation’s premier professional pre-health co-ed fraternity. The members of Delta Epsilon Mu have a wide range of pre-health interests that include, but are not limited to: medicine, nursing, psychology, physical therapy, and dentistry. Delta Epsilon Mu unites its members through brotherhood as they develop both leadership and professional skills.

On behalf of the siblings and members of the Alpha Sigma Chapter of Delta Epsilon Mu, welcome!
Delta Epsilon Mu, Inc. was founded in 1996 with the intention of fostering the pillars of Loyalty, Dedication, Friendship, and Support for future healthcare professionals across the nation. With an emphasis on uniting students of diverse backgrounds and serving the community, ΔEM continues to uplift and enrich the incoming generations of healthcare professionals.
These values were passed down to our campus when our 13 Founders established the Alpha Sigma Chapter at the University of California, Santa Barbara in June 2019. We are more than proud to embody our pillars and mission, while inspiring and guiding other Pre-Health Professionals here at UCSB.
We are a community composed of some of the most hardworking and loving people I have ever known. We value growth, passion, and dedication - principles all of our Members strive to uphold. We offer mentorship, guidance, and the opportunity to develop yourself both personally and professionally. We understand that navigating the field of healthcare can be challenging at times, but being in ΔEM means that you are never alone in that endeavor. Being in ΔEM means committing yourself to a mission and purpose greater than yourself.
I am beyond grateful for the opportunities and the space that this organization has provided me. As a first-generation Pre-Med student majoring in Spanish, I felt completely lost and disconnected from the field of healthcare. ΔEM gave me a space to explore my interests, ask questions, and become the leader that I always wanted to be.
Whatever your path looks like - regardless of your major, experience, background, year, or Pre-Health track - there is a place for you in the ΔEM Alpha Sigma Chapter.
